VHPT Pilot

As a first step, the Trust, in co-operation with the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland  (RCAHMS) and others, has undertaken the creation of a pilot website to demonstrate the scope and potential for the longer term project.

The site was created and successfully delivered within a tight timescale, meeting the rigorous standards required by the Scottish Cultural Resources Access Network (SCRAN), as part of the Resources for Learning in Scotland Programme funded by the New Opportunities Fund.

The site represents a formidable body of work, including newly published research, amounting to some 190 pages with over 450 images and several thousand words of text as well as special features of 3D modeling of an aerial view of the garden c. 1900, a circular tour of the exterior of the Palace in its final developed form and an interactive view of the Long gallery with its rich range of identifiable paintings and furniture.
